Maui Luxury Real Estate Team

The holiday season in Hawaii is very much the same as it is in the rest of the United States; just with an island twist! A white Christmas is near impossible on our beautiful island: look outside your Kaanapali condo in December and you’ll find beautiful white sand in place of gleaming white snow. Go for a Christmas cruise through Lahaina and you won’t even think about turning the heater on; in fact you’ll be rolling with the top down! Drive around Lahaina town and like many other cities in the USA you will find many elaborately decorated West Maui homes surrounded by Christmas lights and characters, some with a Hawaiian spin: like Santa Clause in shorts and an Aloha Shirt! However, many standard Christmas traditions are left unchanged; lush green Christmas trees (brought by barge from the Mainland) are adorned with lights and ornaments, stockings hung with care, and plentiful Christmas Eve dinners are had in many households before Santa makes his yearly visit. Which begs the question, a typical Maui home does not have need of a fireplace, so how exactly does Santa deliver all those wonderful gifts???
