About Me

Susan (“Sue”) C. DeLoria has been a resident of Maui since 1991. Educated in England, Susan graduated from London’s Ealing University with a degree in Hotel Management. She worked for Town and County Catering Services and was part of the management team for many events such as the Queen’s Garden Parties at Buckingham Palace. Susan’s work also included annual premier sporting events such as Ascot and Wimbledon. Susan got the travel bug and decided to explore the great United States of America. Traveling and working across the mainland U.S., Susan  found her way to Lahaina, Maui where she married and settled down with her husband, JD, a well-known and popular local singer and entertainer.

Since being in Maui, Susan has worked in the resort and visitor industry. She also along with her husband ran a successful catering business for several of the tourist boat operators. She launched her real estate career with Whalers Realty Inc. in February 2000 and truly enjoys making people’s dreams of owning property on Maui come true.

Susan has a strong connection with the local Outrigger Canoe Clubs and enjoys anything to do with the ocean – paddling, sailing, snorkeling, and swimming. She still has family in the United Kingdom and a sister in Sydney, Australia and enjoys traveling to see family and friends.

Kaanapali Alii Team Ann and Sue are a remarkable team of professionals. They have worked diligently and effectively to accommodate every request we have made regarding the sale of our property. Their cheery attitude has been equally valuable. I and my family are deeply grateful for the personal effort which each of them has made to assist in selling our property. “Dear Sue… We would not be owners of apt 1103 of the Kanapali Alii if it hadn’t been for your herculean efforts. It was not your ordinary real estate transaction by any means. It had many wrinkles and could have fallen through; but you held it together and it closed. However, that is not the reason Rosemary and I want to thank you. Normally, closing would have been the end, but you went above and beyond our wildest expectations in readying the unit for the rental program. We were worried when a family emergency cancelled our plans to travel to Maui to clean out, repair and furnish the apartment. You followed through–clearing out unnecessary household items, contracting for and overseeing repairs, shopping for furniture and even taking items to a consignment shop for resale! Your attention to detail should be applauded. Thanks to your efforts, we are in the rental pool and renting very well! There is not a doubt in our minds that we would not be in this position if you had not performed such an outstanding job. Looking forward to celebrating with you when we come to Maui in November!”

“I’d like to recommend Susan DeLoria to anyone looking for property in Hawaii. She is not only knowledgeable and informative, but also extremely pleasant to work with. We enjoyed time with Susan in Maui (always at our convenience) and then spent time on the phone and communicated via email too, we were with her for several months and she still keeps in touch to make sure all is well. During the process she did everything she said she would and always offered to do more. Susan was even able to get us a property that wasn’t listed for sale! She was always willing to do whatever we wanted and never tried to push us into anything. We did a long distance closing and she was extremely helpful with the walk-thru and getting the seller to fix needed items and then she followed through to make sure that everything was completed satisfactorily. Susan is friendly, always returns calls and emails promptly and just seems so willing to go above and beyond. She loves Maui and wants others to get the proper fit so that they will love it too. The whole process was so enjoyable (of course who wouldn’t be happy in paradise) that we’re even thinking of doing it all again – but not without Susan!”
