Dave Barca moved to Maui in 1968 with his high school sweetheart to pursue their passion for surfing. Like many young adults who first move to Maui, Dave found work in the hospitality industry. In 1973 his daughter Gina was born.

He is was followed by the birth of his two sons Dustin and Nicolai in 1982 and 1986. While Gina has taken the path to join her dad as a successful Realtor, his two Son’s both live on the island of Kauai. Dustin is a professional surfer and a political activist and Nicolai works for the Nature Conservancy to protect the islands natural beauty.

After the birth of his son Nicolai, Dave decided that it was time that he found a career in an industry that would enable him to better care for his family. Dave had purchased a home in 1973 and realized that the majority of his savings had come the appreciation he had experienced through the ownership of his home. This discovery, along with the urging of friends who were Realtors, caused Dave to decide to obtain his real estate license in 1986. Once he had obtained his license he researched various real estate firms and decided to join The Whalers Team. Some Associates of Dave’s already worked for the company and he admired the professionalism and reputation the firm had within the community. Dave quickly became one of the top sales agents and chose to become a specialist in Kaanapali Shores in 1995, where he still works six days a week at the open house. Since that time, Dave has closed over 180 transaction for a total of approximately $110 million in sales at Kaanapali Shores alone.

In his free time, Dave enjoys playing golf and fishing. Dave has always been noted for his honesty and willingness to go out of the way for his clients. At this stage in his career, much of his business comes by way of referral from past clients and friends. Dave would like to add you to his list of happy customers. When thinking of purchasing and selling real estate on Maui, please remember to “Ask for the Best” and ask for Dave Barca.
