Maui Home Prices Hit a Record High in 2022
Speaking of 2022, and ss we’ve shared in previous blogs, 2021 was a year like no other in real estate— both here on Maui and across the world. 2022 certainly has a lot to live up to—and is off to quite a rousing start!
The latest data for the first month of the year has been released by the REALTORS® Association of Maui and show that the median sales price for single-family homes rose to an all-time high of $1.16 million this past January (for 91 homes being sold), besting the previous high established in June 2021 of $1.105 million. The new record is an 18.4% increase from January of 2021’s median, and the condo market wasn’t far behind: a whopping 155 condos were sold last month at a median sales price of over $707,000
Pretty impressive numbers, to be sure…but what’s perhaps even more impressive is that 38% of all homes and 37% of all condos were sold above their listing price.
