We could spend all day explaining why we love living on Maui, and helping others to do the same by joining people with the Maui dream home. Every now and again, the magnificence of our island is validated in an exciting and interesting way, whether it’s about healthy lifestyles, ecological richness, or any number of other special qualities. This time, it’s about the wine.
In the August 31st issue of Wine Spectator magazine, 3,793 restaurants throughout the world were awarded for the excellence of their wines. Thirty-nine of them are in the state of Hawaii, and among the islands, 21 are on Maui. Yes, only eleven were located on Oahu, while there were five on the Big Island and two on Kauai.
If you are a wine enthusiast who is already living here, you probably won’t be surprised at this recognition. As for those of you wine lovers who are considering a move here, you can expect your tastes to be dazzled on Maui.
There were three awards categories, including the Grand Award, the Best of Award of Excellence and the Award of Excellence. No Hawaii restaurants won the top award, but of the five that won Best of Award of Excellence, four were on Maui.
Congratulations to all our Maui winners! As Maui real estate specialists, we’re grateful to them for adding yet another layer of excellence to the experience of living on this wonderful island.
